I only need good quality photos, the higher resolution the better, to allow me to paint finer detail.
I work really hard on my paintings to make sure my client will be happy with the final work.
In addition I could play with light or colour.
I've painted a few jazz musicians in one colour and I think they came out quite nice.
For example i chosen blue when i was painting Louis Armstrong and Sepia when I did Miles Davis.
I had quite a poor quality photo of the dancers for one of my commissions. The idea was to not get into the details of the dancer's faces, but show the passion through body movements and colours. Look and see the difference for your self.

I've also painted this combination of a toddlers face, cutout from a photo and added to improvised teddies and shelf.
I really liked that one! :o)
I've also painted several portraits...
And of course the most favoured and loved subjects, animals and pets.
